Yesterday once more... Macworld SF 09

The new year is coming which mean the most important Mac event is coming. But for the 2009 MWSF is going to be a beginning of an end for the Mac fan everywhere, cause this is going to be the last Macworld Apple is going to host their famous keynote opening, events and booth. The biggest surprise for the 09 Macworld has already announced: "Steve Jobs is not going to deliver the last Apple hosted opening keynote." Many people believe that a keynote address without Steve is going to be a flat-liner event. Anyway, for good old tradition less guess what Apple is going to "surprise" us for the beginning of 2009.

Below are my guesses for MWSF 2009 New product introduction:

iMac Quad Core --- 100% (No new case design or redesign but LED-Backlit display on all model)

Mac Mini --- 100% (upgrade CPU, GPU and Mini display port with better pricing)

MacPro --- 100% (upgrade CPU, GPU and introduction of 30+ inch LED-Backlit display)

Apple TV --- 90% (A possible Apple TV X Time Capsule product becoming Apple first home media server --- recording feature not likely)

iPhone nano --- 0% (Not likely)

iPhone 3G upgrade --- 80% (A possible 36GB version)

iTunes goes DRM Free --- 70% (A possible store wide DRM Free --- subscription service no likely)

Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard --- 100% (Ready to ship before Feb 09 / A possible 50% chances that it will ship on MacWorld 09 with new Mac)

One more thing... New MacBook Pro 17" 90% (Intel Mobile Quad Core, Aluminum Unibody)

Extra Extra! The End is Coming!

Apple has just announced that Macworld SF 2009 will be the last Macworld that Apple will attend and Steve Jobs will not be speaking at the opening keynote this year. This latest marketing move from Apple have finally put the end to the Macworld trade show era, but marks the beginning of a new direction from Apple Inc.
I'm going to miss it, but I think is a good direction as the trade show concept is dying for general audience, and the cost of running a show like this is very high specially in time like this. Company and individual will be cutting traveling cost in the coming years and the power of the internet news and informations can be deliver in a much more economical ways. For Apple developing a more flexible product introduction and marking plant is much more important as the company is moving to a more consumer base product portfolio with Apple Store around the world.
