What a great idea! American don't need more animal fat in their body and now the meat industry has a new market to send those unhealthy fat to, beside the FastFood industry. Link to news source

Open Source Software for Mac.

A friend ask me about alternative software for photo editing software like Photoshop, but there really isn't any software that can rival PS function and power. But if you don't need all those professional grade functions with pro-cost. There is a few good open source alternative like that base on GIMP code running on X11 environment or native OSX like Seashore. Here is a good website to go when it comes to Mac Open Source projects http://www.opensourcemac.org/

Possible Time Capsule & Airport Extreme update?

According to Appleinsider that Apple might be ready to update it's Airport wireless product with dual spectrum to solve one of the problem of supporting different wireless product within the same network. Today a home wireless network might be supporting difference device like computer, iPhone, media server, game console IP Cam and they all use different wireless spectrum ranging from the slow 802.11b to ultra fast 802.11n. The problem with supporting multi-spectrum in one network chip is the system have to switch constantly between different radio signal therefor slowing down the overall performance of the network. With dual spectrum the low band signal like 11b/g will stay within their own channel and the 11n can operate with better efficiency.

New iMac and Mac Mini coming?

The internet is buzzing with the rumor that Apple will be introducing the long awaited update to the iMac and Mac Mini within the month of March. Those updates a likely to be speed bump and better value package like lager hard drive, more stander memory and faster GPU. I think is unlikely for Apple to introduce an all new design in todays economy with desktop sales slow to a stand still. I think most consumer will be looking a good deal, for Apple to stay competitive with the other PC vendor, introduce an all new design will not be as competitive as squeezing more life out of the current design, which still look very good compare to other new PC design.

Cans the US auto design complete?

As the Geneva Auto Show about to start it reminded me that a lot of the european auto brand does belong to the same group in the US but it doesn't mean that they sell the same car model or share the same design language. In my opinion the european usually does a much better job in styling and packaging the same platform technology compare to the US. Take a look at the above example of the Euro version (Ampera) of the GM Chevy Volt, which will be sold in Europe under Opel and compare it with the US version below. The "Ampera" is just much more better looking and look much more like an advance automobile. Under those skin they are identical in technology design.
Look at this Ford example. The American Ford has been making small car for years using the underlaying design platform from Mazda (Part of Ford Group). Both US and Euro version share the same model name but look completely different. and I will rather spend my dollars on the Euro version on the right over the US version on the left.
The US auto company like Ford are starting to taking a hard look at those Euro model not just styling but also their efficiency technology which the European are much better with due to high gas price and cost of ownership. Below is the US version of the successful Ford Europe "Fiesta".
Rumor on the internet also suggested that American Ford might be building this lovable crossover name "Kuga" in the US also which are based on the European Ford Focus.
